Starting 1 July 2024, the Free Contraception Scheme will be extended to women aged 32-35. This initiative, backed by an additional €4 million, ensures that all women aged 17-35 can access free contraception. The scheme, part of the Women's Health Action Plan 2024-2025, aims to support reproductive health choices and ease financial burdens.

Minister Stephen Donnelly emphasized the importance of equitable healthcare, stating this extension supports women in controlling their reproductive health.
